AutoSmart Audit

Role: Product Designer — UX Flow Optimization, UI Redesign

Overview

AutoSmart Audit is an automotive audit-management platform used across 1,600+ facilities with 1,000+ users globally. The product helps automotive networks streamline compliance, safety, and operational audits.

When I joined, the product was already live and actively used, but several usability and workflow issues were affecting efficiency. My role was to analyze the existing experience, fix friction points, strengthen UI consistency, and design the first mobile version of AutoSmart Audit for field auditors.

The Challenge

Even with wide global adoption, the user experience needed refinement:

  • Audit flow felt confusing and lacked clear progression

  • Dashboard didn’t highlight priority issues, slowing managerial decisions

  • No mobile design existed — users were forced to use desktop layouts on phones

  • Cluttered mobile experience made field inspections difficult

For a product used across hundreds of facilities, these issues had real impact on daily operations.

My Responsibilities

As a Product Designer, I contributed to:

  • A complete UX audit across the entire product

  • Identifying pain points from both auditors and managers

  • Designing the first dedicated mobile product from scratch

  • Redesigning flows and screens with improved clarity and efficiency

  • Enhancing UI consistency across desktop, tablet, and mobile

  • Iterating based on internal and user feedback cycles

Process

1. Understanding Real Audit Behavior

I studied how audits actually happen across facilities: moving between bays, inspecting vehicles, capturing photos, and making quick decisions.
This helped me understand:

  • where users lost time

  • where the interface overwhelmed them

  • which steps felt unclear inside the flow

  • how mobile constraints affected speed
